Association of Bridal Consultants

Wedding industry enthusiasts will convene at the Grand Hyatt in Denver, November 11 – 13, 2012 for the Association of Bridal Consultants - 31st Annual Business of Brides Conference. There will be seminars for people wishing to get started as a wedding planner, and also seminars for experienced wedding planners wishing to expand their business.  There is a simultaneous trade show Sunday and Monday for wedding industry suppliers to highlight their services. Special Sunday afternoon sessions are also planned for November 11th to help participants add honeymoon services to their wedding planning practices. The need for wedding planners has grown significantly over the last 5 years as more and more young couples are working longer hours at their own jobs.  Much of the work researching venues, caterers, photographers, musicians, design themes, gowns, wedding invitations, attendant gifts, etc can be handled by a professional wedding planner, giving the bride more time to spend with her family and friends.  Professional wedding planners also know many dependable suppliers, and since wedding planners manage multiple events each year, they can often receive a better price for services than a one-time bride can receive on her own.The Association of Bridal Consultants (“ABC”) is the trade association for the wedding industry. Headquartered in New Milford, Connecticut, ABC has been serving the wedding industry since 1955 and currently has 4,000 members located in all 50 states and 31 countries.    People looking to earn additional part-time income as a professional wedding planner can take the ABC training program using www.BridalAssn.com, or register for the ABC Annual Conference using www.BusinessofBrides.com. They may also contact the ABC main office at 860-355-7000.
