Interior Design For Special Events

Designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills essential for success in the dynamic field of event design. With a detailed exploration of 15 modules, from foundational principles to emerging trends, this course provides a holistic education in spatial and interior design for creating immersive and memorable event experiences.

Upon completion, students will be equipped to apply newfound knowledge to events ranging from corporate functions to weddings, conferences, fashion shows, and more. This 8-week program is available in both instructor-led and self-study formats.

ASSIGNMENT EXAMPLES

Event Design Mood Board

Students will create a mood board for a fictional event of their choice. The mood board should reflect the design concept and aesthetic of the event, drawing inspiration from the principles of interior design discussed in Module 1.

Event Space Design Plan

Students will create a comprehensive event space design plan for a specific type of event (e.g., conference, trade show, cocktail party). The plan should include a detailed layout of the event space, specifying the placement of furniture, decor elements, and interactive installations.

Event Decor & Furniture Styling

Students will create a comprehensive decor and furniture styling plan for a specific type of event (e.g., charity gala, product launch, music festival). The plan should include a selection of furniture styles, decor elements, and other design elements (e.g., textiles, and lighting) that align with the chosen event theme.

Textile & Fabric Mood Board

Students will create a textile and fabric mood board for a specific type of event (e.g., fashion show, art exhibition, charity gala). The mood board should include a collection of textiles samples, fabric swatches, and fashion inspirations that align with the chosen event theme and desired ambiance.
