Education: Attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, and majored in fashion design. Attended Middlesex County College in New Jersey and Ventura College in California, where she studied business administration. On the ABC: It is the only organized, professional association I belong to. The network is vast and my fellow members are setting the example for ethical and professional business practices in the industry. I am proud to be an ABC member. On Becoming a MBC™: I’m not going to say that I am a perfectionist, but I always push myself. If there’s an opportunity to excel, I jump on it.The Business: Ariel Yve Design is a boutique, event-planning company that specializes in the production and design of high-end weddings and events. I love designing everything from start to finish—creating cohesive, over-the-top, sensory experiences for my clients and their guests.Getting Started: I started my business straight out of college in 2005, from my family’s home in California—a little town named Ojai, now famous for a number of celebrity weddings.Mentors: Jean Picard, MBC™, and Toby Dodge, PBC™, have been a tremendous help and inspiration. Their vast knowledge and willingness to share has proven invaluable.Goals: My ultimate goal is for Ariel Yve Design to become a household name. To have products, books, etc. that earn passive income so I can work a bit less, spend more time with my family, and travel for pleasure. Inspiration: I am inspired by business owners in every industry who go after their dreams, create solutions for their customers, and enhance the lives of those in their communities.Marketing Strategy: I do very little paid advertising. I focus on doing great work so my clients and preferred venues send referrals. I’m also big on building relationships with magazine editors, TV producers, and blog writers.Staying Fresh: I attend ABC’s Annual conference and Engage! I also go on a wedding information diet where, for weeks, I don’t look at wedding magazines or blogs, so I can reconnect with my own perspective and tap into my own inspiration. Outside of the industry, I attend business seminars and summits to see how other industries take their businesses to the next level.Ideal Client: My ideal client is a stylish, self-confident woman who is driven and career-oriented. She appreciates beauty and great design and will spend what she needs to get what she wants. Best of all, my clients trust that I will bring their dreams to life, and they won’t micromanage. On Her Bookshelf: Tribal Leadership by Dave Logan, John King, and Halee Fischer-Wright, and Good to Great by Jim Collins. In Her Free Time: I have very little free time, but I make time every day to do something with horses. They keep me centered and sane. I’ve also started writing a non-event related book, which is based on an incredible true and personal story. In the Media: Her work has been featured in The Knot Magazine, Ines Del Mar Magazine, Your Wedding Day Magazine, Modele Weddings, I Do Magazine, and Santa Barbara Magazine. She has been a contributor for Your Wedding Day Magazine and an expert advisor for Ojai Valley Visitors Wedding Guide. Plus, she’s been on WE TV’s “Platinum Weddings” in February 2009, “Get Married!” in spring 2010, and “Amazing Wedding Cakes” in May 2011.Words of Wisdom: Don’t be afraid to stake your claim to your personal style. There are all different brides out there, and the ones who love what you do will find you.On Giving Back: I volunteer my abilities to local nonprofits—from The Equine Sanctuary and Theater 150 to our local Lavender Festival.
