The space: Rented loft studio space.

Describe your style: My style is “Modern Glam” with a twist! I’m a girly, girl who loves sequins, sparkle, and glitz. I adore lux decor that is decadently opulent, delivers high style, but is pleasing to the eye. My favorite office piece is the mirrored credenza, which provides storage and maximizes light by providing shimmer from its reflective surface. In addition to the mirror furnishing, I choose pale-yellow and gray-hued walls that evoke a sense of Old Hollywood glamour.

What do you like best about your space? As with all good design, I wanted to create an office space that would be an extension of my home, warm, inviting, and comfortable. The furnishings were arranged for conversation, as my aesthetic style is centered on hosting client meetings while retaining a personal feel. Most important was attractive storage solutions that would keep me well organized, yet bring together style and function. I do like the fact that my office is my home away from home where I can separate work from family life by creating boundaries and a cohesive work-life balance.

The space: Residential.

Describe your style: My style is constantly changing, but I love a mixture of mid-century modern with southern ease. I experiment with color and textures. I love fun, sophisticated atmospheres—they inspire me! The office underwent construction to extend it a bit in fall 2014.  That’s when I redesigned the entire space and started fresh. To showcase the art and details of the room, I painted the office solid white from floor to ceiling, including all trim detail. I left the exposed brick from the renovation for texture and had it painted as well.  To give depth, I painted the back wall Restoration Hardware’s Graphite. I also love the elegance of the gray with gold accents. Mixing metals is something I do a lot for clients, and I loved incorporating that into the office.

What do you like best about your space? My office is residential and there are usually about three people in it at one time. Jonathan Adler lighting fixtures and rugs were placed throughout the office, custom watercolor prints from an English artist are featured on the back wall. There are the skylines of Nashville and Chicago (our two office locations). Sonos was installed to have an amazing sound system that staff can control during meetings. This space allows multiple people to participate in day-to-day production and client meetings. It’s bright, comfortable, and it’s in my home! I designed my desk and commissioned a Chicago woodworking company to create it and then had the furniture company, OAK, in Nashville, finish it with the gold and amazing stain for the herringbone design on the top (see cover photo of this issue). It’s my favorite piece in the entire office.

The space: Rented office.

Describe your style: Our office is a reflection of a style we love—modern, fresh, and chic!

What do you like best about your space? We absolutely love the open and airy feel of our studio. We have made our space cheery and inviting by adding pops of bright colors and luxurious details. Inspiration is all around us! As planners and out-of-the-box thinkers, we love sharing a space where we can bounce ideas off each other and share a passion for all things pretty. The walls are adjourned with photos of our work and inspiration boards. We have a candy station on display, snacks always available, and chilled libations on hand.  By choosing this space and designing it to be something we love, Boldly Chic Events has provided our clients with a fun and bright planning experience.  Even more, we love hosting small events here on occasion.  From open houses to appreciation events, it is the perfect, intimate space for small business gatherings. Although we continuously update our space to stay on top of emerging trends, we continue to stay true to the look and brand we have built over the years.  Our office is a place the team enjoys coming to each day. It makes us smile as we work hard. And we love sharing our space with a talented, local photographer, Sara Ackermann (www.SaraAckermann.com).
